Dora Zylstra, 92, of Hull died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Pleasant Acres Care Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church with Rev. Verlyn Boone officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Oolman Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Zylstra was born July 28, 1908 in rural Hull, the daughter of Henry and Hattie (Huitink) Te Slaa. She was raised in the Hull and Middleburg areas. As a child, scarlet fever and diptheria caused her to lose much of her hearing.

She married Jerald S. Zylstra on January 3, 1935, in rural Middleburg. They farmed northeast of Hull for 35 years. In 1966, they moved into Hull. She was a cook at Pleasant Acres Care Center for 7 yeaars. Mr. Zylstra died Feb. 2, 1989, in Sioux City. She became a resident of Peasant Acres Care Center in the summer of 1999.

She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she participated in women's activities. She also belonged to the Lincoln Homemakers. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, handiwork, and making crafts. In earlier years she was an organist.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Cornelia Ann "Connie" and Rardon D. Bevill III of Fort Collins, Co.; two sons and their wives, Henry John Zylstra and Kathryn (Thompson) of Alburnett, Iowa and Stanley John Zylstra and Ruth (Van Batavia) of Hull; seven grandchildren, Dr. Katherine Lee Bevill, Emily Constance Bevill, Daniel Spencer Bevill, Eric John Zylstra, David Jay Zylstra, Rachel Ann Hanson and Carl Dean Zylstra; two great-grandchildren; a sister Henrietta Hoksbergen of Hull.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Edward Bevill; a sister, Gertrude Pollema; and a brother, Gerrit H. Te Slaa.
