John Ymker, 62, of Rock Valley, died Wednesday, November 29, 1989 in Royal C. Johnson Veterans Memorial Hospital at Sioux Falls.

He was born August 26, 1927, in Corsica and married Bernice Bolkema on August 30, 1950, in Rock Valley. He served in the Army from January 1951 to January 1953. He then worked in the feed grinding business at Rock Valley for two years then farmed in the Inwood, Iowa, and Rock Valley areas. He was also an agricultural salesman until illness forced him to retire in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; one son, John A. , Fort Polk, Louisiana; four daughters: Mrs. Butch (Lois) Schoellerman, Sioux Center, Iowa; Mrs. Milton (Delores) Peters, Jamaica, Iowa; Mrs. Harold (Helen) Boer, Lyons; and Mrs. John (Barbara) Riggins, Blue Springs, Missouri; nine grandchildren; two brothers: Elmer, Hawarden, Iowa; and Fred, Inwood; and two sisters: Mrs. Cornie (Bertha) Van De Vendel and Mrs. Rich (Minnie) Wallenburg, both of Rock Valley.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, December 2, in the First Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with burial in Valley View Cemetery.

Visitation was held in Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
