Alfred C. Zenk, 57, of Granville died Thursday in the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a long illness.
Services were at 10:30 A.M. Saturday in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Granville. Concelebrants were Monsignor Richard Zenk of Sioux City, the Rev. Francis J. Nemmers of Granville and Rev. Edward Hoffman of Rock Rapids. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.
Mr. Zink was born January 9, 1925, at Alton. He married Catherine Didier November 25, 1948, at Granville. They farmed near Granville until retiring and moving into town in November of 1981.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and served on the board of directors of Spalding School the last 14 years.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Brian at home; four daughters, Mrs. William (Karla) Pezdirtz of Lawton, Oklahoma, Beverly of San Jose, California, Mrs. Jon (Sandra) Sullivan of Des Moines, and Mrs. Keith (Pamela) Pick of Harlan; his step-mother, Mrs. Mollie Zenk of Alton; four brothers, Alvin of Sibley, Monsignor Richard of Sioux City, Donald of Alton and Cyril of Slayton, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. George (Mildred) Vortherms of Fulda, Minnesota, and Mrs. Mark (Mary Ann) Full of Minneota, Minnesota, and one grandson.
