From the Alton Democrat of Jul 29, 1905

Died Sunday morning at her home from cancer of the breast Mrs. Peter Sluis at the age of sixty years. The funeral was held from the Chr. Ref. church at two o'clock Tuesday Rev. Van Dellen officiating.

(In the 1900 census Peter Sluis was born Oct 1842 Netherlands came to US in 1889, Wife Neeltje born Nov 1844 Neth., no further info found on her. They had a son Peter Sluis 7 yrs in 1900.)
