Mrs. S. Pool, mother of Mrs. Steve Eason died at the home of her son O. Pool south of Orange City Monday noon at the age of eighty years. Deceased had been suffering from the infirmities of old age since last March. The funeral which was held at Orange City on Wednesday afternoon was largely attended.Besides the children mentioned above deceased leaves Wiebe Pool of Orange City and T. Pool of Hurley South Dakota and Mrs. Will Mulder of Nebraska.

S. W. Pool, one of the prosperous and well to do farmers residing about 6 miles southwest of this city, passed away at his home last Sunday. Mr. Pool was in his seventy second (?) year and was one of the old settlers of the county. His death resulted from heart toruble and it is thought that the rugged work he had been doing recently brought on the attack as he had been in his usual health up until the time of his demise. The funeral was held from the residence last Monday, interment in the Orange City cemetery. He leaves a wife and a large family of children.(from an account on ancestry.com He was born 17 Aug 1820 at Drachten, Friesland Neth. died 25 Jul 1897 Orange City IA. His wife was Hylkje Tietes Bosgra 1826-1905. His parents were Wiebe Jans Pool and Maria Elisabeth Van Kammen. His children were - Tiete, Maria, Wiebe, Tjitske Susan, Okke, Akke, Annie, and Anna.
