Mercedes C. Wolf, 86, of Adrian, Minn., died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home in Adrian.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Feb 17, at St. Adrian's Catholic Church. Fr. Gerald Kosse officiated. Burial was at St. Adrian's Cemetery under the direction of the Lynch Dingmann Funeral Home.

Mercedes was born Nov. 11, 1914, at Alton, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Konz) Probst. She attended St. Mary's Academy School in Alton. Mercedes married Celestinus "Sally" Wolf on January 15, 1936 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. The couple farmed at St. Kilian, Owens, and Adrian Minn. They moved into Adrian in 1971. Mercedes worked as a cook at the Adrian Rest Home for 10 years.

Mrs. Wolf was a member of St. Adrian's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and CCW. She enjoyed cooking, baking, being a homemaker, family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of Adrian; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Alfred Kosse of Marcus; two sons and their wives, Lyle and Mary Wolf of Spirit Lake and John and Donna Wolf of Mankato, Minn. 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Probst and his wife Dora of Orange City and Milo Probst and his wife Tarsella of Alton, and three sisters, Florence Frederes of Orange City, Bernice Gergen of Alton, and Betty Reker of Lismore Minn.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Rod, and Don Probst and a sister Bernadine Reker.
