In the death of George Wright, who died at Redwood Falls, Minnesota, Saturday, December 1, and was buried Tuesday, December 4th, another pioneer of Sioux County has passed on. Mrs. Wright suffered several strokes and for some time he was a semi-invalid at the home of his son, Elmer Wright, and daughter, Mrs. Eva Stewart, who lovingly cared for him. Mr. Wright came to Sioux County from Hanover, Illinois, where he was born 75 years ago. He was married to Miss Anna Gamble and settled on a farm, northeast of Ireton, where they spent many years, moving to Ireton later and then to Redwood Falls. Mrs. Wright passed away two years ago. Mr. Wright was a man of real character and his word was always dependable. He was for years a member of the United Presbyterian Church, later when the Presbyterian Church was organized he was one of the charter members and was always a worker and supporter. He with his wife spent several years in California, coming to this place only to visit occasionally. Dan Gamble a brother-in-law, and R.S. Miller from here attended the funeral.
