Ralph Bouma, 72, of Orange City died Thursday, April 14, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.
Bouma was born August 1, 1915, in Boyden. He married Jennie Reinsma September 6, 1939, in Orange City. The couple made their home in Orange City where he was a dealer and distributor of Watkins Products for 47 years.
Bouma was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church where he served as an elder on the consistory. He was a former member of the boards of directors of Western Christian High School at Hull, Orange City Christian School and Unity Christian High School in Orange City.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Merl (Rosa) Alons of Visalia, California; three sons, Gerald of Santa Barbara, California, and Ronald and Glenn, both of Orange City; four brothers, the Rev. Louis of Sioux Center, Lambert of Hull, Clarence of Long Beach, California, and Harold of Ontario, California; four sisters, Sadie Sankey of Chandler, Minnesota, Tracy De Vries of Orange City, Alice Dooyema of Edgerton, Minnesota, and Hattie Vander Heide of Artesia, California; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter O. and sister, Bertha Verduin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 16, at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. John T. Ebbers officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
