Harriet Marie Bouma, 78, of Hull died Friday. April 5, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Aldon Kuiper officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Hull.

Mrs. Bouma was born February 25, 1918, in Hull, the daughter of Hein and Mary (Roggen) Koele. She was raised in Hull. She married Otto Bouma at Hull on December 18, 1940. The couple farmed at Hull most of their married life. They retired into Hull in 1963. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she was a charter member of the Christian School Circle.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Loren and Gaylene of Hull; five sisters, Jeanette and her husband Gerrit Mouw of Hull, Adeline Kragt of Hull, Martha and her husband Keith Auman of Bellflower, California, Phyllis and her husband Elmer Raman of Hull and Faith and her husband Ken Vander Tuig of Sioux Falls; three brothers and their wives, Marion and Marilyn Koele and Harold and Muriel Koele, all of Hull, and Wayne and Joan Koele of Cedar Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Leora Koele of Sheldon and Elsie Koele of Hull; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marla; and three brothers, Arie, Gerald and John Koele.
