Henry Miedema, 64, Mitchell, South Dakota. Died Saturday, June 8. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 11, at the First Reformed Church in Mitchell, South Dakota with burial at the Graceland Cemetery.

Mr Miedema was born July 30, 1920 at Ireton, Iowa to John and Jennie (Bleyenberg) Miedema. He grew up and attended schools at Ireton.

He married Jeanette Maliepaard at Sioux Center, Iowa on January 31, 1945. They lived and farmed in the Sioux Center area for a number of years. They moved to Mt. Vernon, S.D. in 1969 and to Mitchell in 1962.

He was a truck driver for a number of years and in 1972 became the owner-operator of Miedema Sanitation in Mitchell. He semi-retired in 1984.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Lyle (Jan) Bruinsma, Stickney, John and Philip of Mitchell; and Mrs. Marvin (Beverly) Denison, Columbia, Ill.; five sisters, Mrs Rich(Ida)Van Donge, Henrietta Miedema, Mrs Nelson (Theresa) Cleveringa, all of Sioux Center, Iowa; Mrs. William (Frieda) Bierma, Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Mrs. LeRoy (Dorothy) Kleene of Sioux City, Iowa; and eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
