Arnold "Arnie" Te Stroete, 83, of Hospers died Thursday, October 31, at a hospital in Orange City.

Memorial services were at 2pm Saturday. November 2, at First Christian Reformed Church of Hospers with the Rev. Mike Pitsenberger officiating. Burial was in the Hospers Cemetery.

Te Stroete was born February 28, 1908 in Hospers. He lived his childhood and attended school in Hospers, He married Henrietta Schutt in Sioux Center on December 12, 1934. He worked for the Hospers Telephone Company for several years, after which he worked for Iowa Public Service Company. He served in the Army from 1943 until 1945. After the service he returned to Hospers and continued working for IPS until his retirement in 1973.

He was a member of First Reformed Church of Hospers where he served as deacon and elder. He was active in community affairs and served on the Hospers school board for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter-in-law, Beach Te Stroete of Sioux City; a sister, Ruth Raak of Orange City; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
