Fred Witte, 60, of Rock Valley died Thursday, January 23, at the Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday January 25, at Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley with the Rev. Ron Johnson, pastor of Pioneer United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Hull.

Witte was born June 16, 1936 in Perkins, the son of John and Bertha (Bockhaus) Witte. He lived in Perkins with his parents until their death in 1962. He lived with his brother in Rock Valley a short time before moving to Hope Haven Care Center in Orange City. He moved to Valley Manor in April 1985.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Beulah Witte of Rock Valley; two nephews; and two nieces.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Witte; a brother, John Raymond "Ray."
