Funeral services were held last Monday, April 11, 1949, for Mrs. Arie Bomgaars, who died at the home of her son, Marinus Bomgaars, here in Hull on Thursday, April 7th. Services were held at the home and at the Middleburg Reformed Church.

Mrs. Arie Bomgaars, nee Cornelia De Bruin, was born July 24, 1860. On February 14, 1883, she was united in marriage to Mr. Arie Bomgaars.

In the spring of 1883 they moved to Sioux county and she lived in this county all the remaining years of her life with the exception of five years. She was 88 years and 9 months old at the time of her passing. Mr. and Mrs. Bomgaars were blessed by the births of five children, four of whom survive. They are Marinus of Hull, John of Orange City, Nick and Nellie (Mrs. Peter Verrips) both of Sioux Center.

Her husband preceded her in death on January 6, 1907, as did also her son Frank, who passed away on September 29, 1947.

She had 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
