Irene Boone, 91, of Sioux Center, Iowa, formerly of Hull, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Sioux Center Community Hospital.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at American Reformed Church in Hull, With Rev. Steven Bierly officiating. Burial will be prior to the service Friday in Hope Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 9:45 A.M. Friday at Oolman Funeral Home in Hull. Visitation will be after 3:30 P.M. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home. Irene May was born October 31, 1914, in rural George, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Fannie (Heeren) Pals. She was raised in George, where she completed elementary school.

On September 10, 1947, she married William Boone in Ellsworth, Minnesota. They made their home in Matlock, Iowa, until 1951, when they moved to Hull. She was a homemaker from 1972 to 1977. The couple served as custodians for American Reformed Church. “Bill” passed away September 14, 1985, in Sioux Center after 38 years of marriage. On September 1, 2004, she moved to Sioux Center. She resided at Crown Pointe until June 15, 2005, when she transferred to the Franken Manor.
She was a member of American Reformed Church. She enjoyed baby-sitting the Bomgaars children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind a sister, Hazel Elzenga of Rock Rapids, Iowa; many nephews and nieces; her special family including children, Lee and Dee Bomgaars; grandchildren, Jon and Wendy Bomgaars and Larry and Joni den Hoed; and great-grandchildren, Braden Bomgaars and Alexis and Kaden den Hoed, all of Hull.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Fannie Kampen, Hattie Wibben and Nellie Jacobs; and four brothers, Corneal, Clinton, Alvin and Vernon Pals.
