Frances Mae Bonnema, 98, of Wilmar, Minnesota; formerly of Prinsburg, Minnesota, died Tuesday, October 9, at the Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.
Services were held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 12, at Unity Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg with the Rev. Steve Zwart officiating.

Mrs. Bonnema was born March 31, 1903, on a farm near Orange City to John and Bertha (Anema) Duimstra. She attended Andover Public School for eight grades and Western Christian Academy in Hull for four years. Following high school she attended six weeks of training and taught at Central Christian School in Prinsburg for five years. She also was a substitute teacher for many years and was a news reporter for local newspapers. She married John Bonnema June 14, 1929, and they resided in Prinsburg. She taught Ladies Aid Bible Study and was one of the members who started the Mothers Club at the Christian School.

She was a member of Unity Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed caring and praying for her children and grandchildren, cooking, gardening and music.
Survivors include her children Roger and Marcy Bonnema of Willmar, Vicki and Howie Hall of Sioux Center, Carol and Loren of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Val and Norm Duininck of Prinsburg and Jan and Bob Goris of Spicer, Minnesota; 21 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998; four brothers; three sisters; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
