Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church of Rock Valley Saturday, September 28, at 2 pm for William D. Tripp, 71, of Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. Tripp, a native and long-time resident of Rock Valley, passed away Tuesday, September 24, in a Minneapolis hospital following a long illness.

Service was conducted by Rev. Mervin Nelson. Burial was made in Valley View cemetery. Pallbearers were louis, Russell, Roger and Lowell Oakland, Ralph and Edward Hauser.

Mr. Tripp was born July 28, 1886, on a farm three miles southwest of Rock Valley. He farmed in South Dakota for several years. He was married to Emma Oakland March 18, 1918, and farmed around Porter, Minn. for ten years, after which they moved to Minneapolis.

Survivors include the widow, Emma; two daughters, Helen Mrs. M.D. Felix, of Greenwood, Ind., and Marlys, Mrs. O.A. Williams, of Plains, Ga.; three sons, Forrest, Loren and James of Minneapolis; a brother, George; a sister Bessie, Mrs. Chas Jacobs; and twelve grandchildren.
