FUNERAL SERVICE

Visitation will be from 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 until the time of service at the Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa.

NETTIE V. URBAN

Nettie V. Urban, the daughter of John H. and Hattie (Hofmeyer) Van Oort, was born December 23, 1911 in Newkirk, Iowa. She attended Lyon County School through the 8th grade. Nettie was united in marriage to George Urban on August 15, 1934 in her parents’ home near Sheldon. She owned and operated with her husband, Urbans Lunch for 25 years. Her husband, George preceded her in death on March 29, 1992. Nettie moved into the Christian Retirement Home and then in 2006, she moved into the Sanford Senior Care both of Sheldon, Iowa where she passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 reaching the age of 101 years, 7 months and 9 days.

She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon.

Nettie is survived by her nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; an infant son, her parents, two sisters and seven brothers.
