Marvin Noble, 59, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Hawarden, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral service was at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Danilo Fernandez officiating. Burial was in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery.
Marvin Hollis Noble was born May 7, 1942, near Hawarden. He graduated in 1959 from the Hawarden High School. He spent several years building golf courses. He moved to Grundy Center in 1966 where he worked as a plumber. In 1967 he began working for the Illinois Central Railroad. He married Cynthia (Cindy) Bean in Otho. The couple lived in Waterloo until 1987, moving to Fort Dodge. Due to ill health he retired from the railroad in 1991.
He was a member of Riverside Methodist Church, Board of Trustees at the church, the United Transportation Union Local No. 493, where he served as the local chairman for several years, and also a member of the Office of National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, Inc.
Survivors include: wife Cynthia; two sons, Mark Noble of Las Vegas, Nev., and Travis Bickford of Fort Dodge; his mother Lorene Noble of Hawarden, sister Shirley Jensen of Sioux City; and brother Dean Noble of Hawarden.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hollis Noble; brother Daryl Noble; and sister, Janet Noble.
