Poster's note: According to the March 17, 1921 Hawarden Independent, John Christopher Shoemaker married Helen Ericson nee Angle on Thursday, March 10, 1921. Helen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Angle of Hawarden. In the 1925 Iowa census, Helen's maiden name is given as Angel and she and John have one daughter, Virginia. (Angle is correct spelling according to the gravestones of Helen's parents). The March 26, 1925 Hawarden Independent reports that Helen Shoemaker was granted a divorce from John Shoemaker.
