From the Thursday, February 13, 1941 Ireton Ledger:

Last Rites For Mrs. C. Johnson

Was 60 Years, 3 Months And 4 Days Old At Time of Death

Many from Ireton went to Craig Sunday to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Charles Johnson, which were held at St. John's Lutheran church, with Rev. F. L. Voelker in charge. Interment was made in St. John's cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was well known in Ireton.

Lottie Junkermeier was born in Germany on November 2, 1880 and departed this life early Thursday morning, Feb. 6, aged 60 years, 3 months, and four days.

When 16 years of age she came to America with an older brother and lived in the vicinity of Charles City and Mason City. Later she was employed near Craig, where on January 26, 1915 she was married to Charles Johnson. To this union were born three children, George, Verna, and Ervin, all who with the widower survive.

Mrs. Johnson had enjoyed good health until last fall and on January 3 was taken to Savannah, Mo., for treatment, returning home Jan. 29.

Surviving besides the widower and three children are nine step-children, three brothers and three sisters, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Poster's note: According to the 1925 Iowa census, Lottie was the daughter of Henrietta (Bockemeier) and Christian Junkermeier. (Henrietta's last name is spelled Bokemeier on some family trees on ancestry.com and Lottie's first name is given as Sharlotte).
