Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, April 20, at the American Reformed Church in Orange City for the late Albert Van Oort, 70, who passed away Sunday morning at the Orange City Municipal Hospital from a heart attack.

Mr. Van Oort was born at Middleburg on June 17, 1895. He was married to Miss Annetta Rozebroom in September, 1920. Survivors are his widow and the children; two sons, Albert Jr., of Superior, Wisconsin, and Jay of Rochester, Minnesota; two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Marion Luymes) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Marna (Mrs. Don Hakeman) of Sanborn, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, John and Wien Van Oort of San Diego, California, and Paul Van Oort of Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Vander Stoep of Riverside, California, Mrs. Thomas Geselschap, Mrs. Peter Zevenbergen, all of the Orange City vicinity.

One brother, Cyrene, and one sister, Mrs. Ben Vander Zwaag, preceded in death.

Mr. Van Oort was a veteran of the First World War, serving from February 1918 until August 1919 with the U. S. Army of Occupation and was a member of the Seventh Engineers Band.

The Rev. Alvin Hook, pastor of the American Reformed Church, officiated at the funeral services and burial was made in the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.
