Funeral services are being held Thursday afternoon at the Free Grace Reformed church in Middleburg for Mrs. John Van Oort sr., which died following a heart attack Monday morning. Mrs. Van Oort, 59 was stricken at their farm home seven miles north and one mile east of Orange City. Rev Wm. Kolenbrander officiated at the funeral rites.

Mrs. Tracy Van Oort was born April 18 1890 at Sioux Center and was a lifelong resident of Sioux county. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Bomgaars. She was married May 30, 1919 to John Van Oort.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter (Angeline) Mrs. Arthur Reekers of Sheldon, one daughter-in-law , Mrs. John Van Oorts Jr. of Bellflower, Calif., seven grandchildren.She is survived by four brothers , Arei Bomgaars of Sheldon, Joe Bomgaars of Rock Valley, Henry Bomgaars of Hull and Gerrit Bomgaars of Matlock; two sisters, (Nellie) Mrs. William Van Dyke of Paramount, Calif., and (Sophia) Mrs. Gilbert Nay of Bellflower, Calif.

She is preceded in death by a son, Nick, who died in 1922 at the age of 12 Days and a son John who died at the age of 35. She was also preceded by two brothers, Marinus and Tony
