From the May 31, 1962 Sioux County Capital:

Viola Kuecker rites are held

Funeral services for Viola Kuecker of Maurice who died May 14 at Denver, Colorado after an illness of several vears were held Friday, May 18 at a Le Mars funeral home.

She was born Viola Etta Cardwell on August 6, 1898 in Plymourh county. She lived in Plymouth county until her marriage on February 25, 1921 to Fremont E. Kuecker. Since then the couple has farmed in Sioux county. She had been hospitalized at Denver for only two weeks.

Survivors include the widower: a son, Robert of Maurice: two sisters, Mrs. Dora Gralapp of Le Mars and Mrs. Flossie Saxton of Burbank; a brother, George Cardwell of Sioux City and a half brother, Ira Sager of Leeds.

Poster's note: According to the 1925 Iowa census as transcribed by ancestry.com, Viola was the daughter of Henrietta (Peron) and Walter Cardwell. This is confirmed by the obituary of her sister Myrtle Mary (Cardwell) Sager in the August 25, 1952 LeMars Globe Post which also mentioned the following siblings: Flossie Sexton (rather than Saxton); and Arthur Cardwell and George Cardwell both of Sioux City (who presumably were deceased in between Myrtle and Viola).
