From the February 7, 1959 Sioux City Journal (a similar notice appears in the February 12, 1959 Hawarden Independent):

ORANGE CITY,Ia — Special: Mrs. Charles H. Tye, a former Orange City resident and wife of a former longtime Sioux county superintedent of schools, died recently in Sierra Madre, Cal., it was learned here. She suffered a heart attack at her home there.

Mr. Tye served as county school superintendent for 38 years before moving to California three years ago, and Mrs. Tye served as his deputy for much of that time.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Charles, Jr., of New York, and three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Jones of Brookfield, Ill., Mrs. Bruce Radar of Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs. Phil Cockerell of Pasadena, Cal.

Poster's note: According to the 1925 Iowa census, Mrs. Tye was born in Missouri, the daughter of R.C. Heyes and Cora Kimey but the names are somewhat illegible. At least one family tree on ancestry.com gives her maiden name as Keyes.
