Margriet Van de Pol, 92, of Hull died Saturday, January 27, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Home. Services were today, Tuesday, at 1:30pm at First Christian in Hull, with the Rev. Roger Bouwman officiating. Burial was at Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Van de Pol was born on January 27, 1904, in the Netherlands, the daughter of Gerrit John and Jantje (Baastiaan) Bakker. In 1909, she came to the United States with her family. They lived in Sioux Center a short time ten moved to Valley Springs, South Dakota, where she was raised. On January 1, 1925, she married Art Vande Pol in Valley Springs. The couple lived in Hills and Austin, Minnesota, before moving to Hull in 1939. Mrs. Van de Pol became a resident of the nursing home in November 1992.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, where she had been active in the Helping Hands Society. She was also a foster grandmother through the Area Education Agency Four for several years.

Surviving include three daughters, Alberta and her husband, Marvin Vander Wilt, of Hull, Jeanette Baartman of Sioux Center and Johanna Van Surksum of Hull; a son and his wife, Edward and Betty Van de Pol, of Pella; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons-in-laws, Bill Baartman and Bill Van Surksum; a granddaughter; five sisters; and three brothers.
