Marvin Van Muyden, 73, of Sioux Center died Wednesday, August 3, at the nursing home in Sioux Center.

Services were at 11 A. M. Friday, August 5, at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. Harold Lenters and the Rev. Mark De Witt officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Van Muyden was born April 12, 1921, to Cornelius and Anna (Bonnema) Van Muyden. He married Winifred De Vries on February 13, 1943, in Mineral Wells, Texas. He was a World War II veteran and worked for Sioux County for many years. He was a member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Larry La Rue and his wife Donna Van Muyden, Zell Rae De Bruin and Ward J. Van Muyden, all of Sioux Center; four brothers, Peter Van Muyden of Sioux Center, Lester Van Muyden of Hull, Milton Van Muyden and Glen Van Muyden, both of Sacramento, California; two sisters, Margaret Brinkhuis of Sacramento and Leona (Mrs. John Mulder) of Sioux Center; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ethel Garretson; and one grandchild.
