From the March 22, 1966 Ireton Booster:

A former Ireton resident, Henry J. Vlietstra, 77 passed away March 22 at the Oak Harbor Manor, Oak Harbor, Washington.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Catherine) VandeWerfhorst and Mrs. Paul L. (Wilma) Maylor of Oak Harbor, Washington; one son, William H. of Orange City, IA; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 25 in Oak Harbor, Washington.

Poster's note: According to the 1925 Iowa census, Henry J. Vlietstra was the son of Willenke (De Haan) and Peter Vlietstra. According to son William's obituary, Henry was married to Cathryn Bode; however the 1925 census says that Henry's wife's maiden name was Cathryn Bochler but that her mother's married name was Cathryn Bode.
