Mrs. Ben Vander Griend, 95, of Orange City, died March 2, in a hospital at Orange City.

Services were in 1:30pm March 5 in the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Thomas C. Vander Heuvel officiated. Burial was in the Middleburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Vander Griend, the former Gertrude Zwagerman, was born Feb. 11, 1887 at Ackley.

She married Ben Vande Griend Feb. 17, 1909, at Hospers. They farmed in the Middleburg area until 1947 when they moved into Middleburg. They later moved to Orange City. He died Sept. 29, 1971.

Mrs. Vander Griend was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and a former member of the Ladies Society and Zangkoor.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Steve Van Iperen of Orange City and Mrs. Adolph Bylsma of Hull; two sons, Peter of Alcester, S.D. and Jake B. of Orange City; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Hofmeyer of Hospers, Mrs. Jake H. Vander Griend of Hull and Mrs. Hilbert Vogel of Lynden, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
