Henry Vande Burgt, 83, of Hull passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Henry was born July 5, 1905, the son of Henry Vande Burgt and Gertrude Grevengoed Vande Burgt.

On Dec. 13, 1927, he married Winnie Nyenhuis at Rock Valley. They farmed near Hull until 1942 when they moved into town where Henry operated a custom feed grinding business. Mrs. Vande Burgt passed away April 8, 1976 at Hull.

Mr. Vande Burgt continued to operate his grinder until 1985.

He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull.

Survivors include his son, Wilfred, and his wife, Ella Mae of Hull; five grandchildren, Mrs. Jerry (Evonne) Wielenga of Maurice; Jerry of Salem, Ore; Mrs. LaVerne (Beverly) Sheldahl of Hull; Mrs. Craig (Donna) Faber of Inwood and Harvey of Salem, Ore; 13 Great grandchildren and four brothers and sisters, Helen Postma of Lennox, S.D., Ralph of Redlands, Calif., Jean Vander Schaaf of Rock Valley and Willemina Hendriks of Orange City.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Gilbert in 1964; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Sophie Smits and a brother, Gerrit.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 10 at the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull with the Rev. William Renkema officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai-Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
