H. WILLIAM "BILL" SOHL

H. William "Bill" Sohl was born November 3, 1907 near Hull, son of August Sohl and Margaretta Riebling. He passed away after a brief illness on August 4, 1982 at St. Joseph Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 1 day.

Funeral services were held on August 7 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hull, Iowa. Rev. Lyle Blaede officiated. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery with Kraai Funeral Home directing.

He was married to Matilda Tiedeman on February 4, 1931.

As a boy William attended country school, later he farmed for 39 years in the Hull area. In 1969 he retired and lived in their home in Hull until his death. He worked part-time for several years at Hull Industries.

He was interested in community affairs and in his retirement kept busy with interests and various hobbies. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on the church council as well as being in the Church Brotherhood.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Matilda, three brothers, John of Rock Valley, Edward of Boyden and Arthur of George; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Pick of Luverne, MN and Mrs. Paul (Matilda) King of rural Rock Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mrs. Adele Hinsch, one infant brother and two infant sisters.
