Former Hudson Resident Dies

James H. Sogn, 50, attorney at Denver, formerly of Hudson, died Monday, June 9. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday at the Trinity Lutheran church in Hudson. Military rites will be held with interment at the church cemetery.

Mr. Sogn was born July 11, 1907, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Sogn, presently living in rural Hudson. There he spent his childhood.

After attending Augustana college at Sioux Falls a year he enrolled at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, from which he graduated with honors, magna cum laude, at which time he was awarded the Hope scholarship, a three year course in law.

During World War II he served with the armed forces in the legal department. He was married in Washington, D. C., and practiced law in Denver.

Survivors include the widow, Dorothy; a daughter, Karen. 11. and a son, Richard, 7; his parents: two sisters, Mrs. Paul Gubrud of Hudson and Mrs. J. Wendell Johnson of Owatonna, Minn., and three brothers, Donald and Richard Sogn of Hudson and David Sogn of Seattle.
