Carrie Dammann, daughter of John and Anna (Wilker) Jutting, was born April 24, 1903, in Matlock, Iowa. She lived her youth and attended school in Castlewood, South Dakota.

She was united in marriage to Clarence H. Dammann of Little Rock, Iowa, on December 31, 1925 at Madison, Minnesota. They lived in the Little Rock area, where they farmed. Clarence passed away in May of 1954. In 1960 Carrie moved to Sibley, where she was employed at Echter’s Sibley Greenhouse. In 1977 she moved to Luverne, Minnesota, where she became a volunteer for the Retired Senior Citizens Volunteer Program. She moved to the Good Samaritan Center of George, Iowa, in June of 1982.

Carrie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley since 1939 and a former member of the Ladies Aid.

She passed away April 9, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center of George, Iowa, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley, Iowa at 1:30 P. M. Wednesday, April 12, 1989 with The Rev. Durwood Clauson, Intern Elizabeth Wultberg and The Rev. Percy Bruns officiating. Interment was held at the Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley, Iowa with Andringa Funeral Home of Sibley in charge of arrangements.

Those left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Mrs. Cletus (Leona) Gacke of Erhard, Minnesota; two sons, Darell of Vesper, Wisconsin, and Merle of Rock Valley, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Esther) Gaikowski of Webster, South Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, six brothers, three sisters, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
