Mrs. F. S. Knapp Dies At Age 92

Funeral services for Mrs. F. S. Knapp, 92, who died after a long illness at a Hawarden nursing home Wednesday of last week, were held Saturday afternoon at the Barnard-Dow Funeral home. Rev. David Sharp of the Seventh day Adventist church at Sioux City officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Ralph Gregg, jr., sang "Nearer My God to Thee’ and "Sweet Bye and Bye." Casket bearers were Robert Yates, Roger Yates, Phillip Murphy, Merritt Morgan, Knute Fatland and William Murphy.

The former Lilly Mae Emery, she was born January 7, 1874, at Ossian, Iowa, and married F. S Knapp. January 1, 1896 at Alcester. He died in 1940. They had lived on a Sioux county farm near Hawarden.

Mrs. Knapp had been a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church at Hawarden since 1935.

Survivors include two sons Charles of Philadelphia and James; of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Yates of Chamberlain,. S D., and Mrs. Lulu Whitmore of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren three brothers, George Emery of Washington state, John Emery of Colton, S. D., and James Emery of Wichita, Kan.
