Sister of Local Man Died Dec. 8

Mrs. Leroy Dimmick, a former resident of this vicinity, passed away last Wednesday, Dec. 8, in a hospital at Claremont, Calif., following a lingering illness. She was a sister of Ben Koehler of Hawarden.

Sophia Koehler, a member of a pioneer family of LeMars, was born Jan. 1, 1877, at that place. She spent her youth in LeMars and was a graduate of that high school. She was married to Leroy Dimmick in LeMars May 2, 1918. Her husband preceded her in death about two years.

She came to Hawarden and for a time lived with her brother on the farm, northeast of this city. While here she was a member of the M.I.C. Later she went to Portland, Ore., where she lived for many years but for the past couple of years she has been in California.

She is survived by one son, who is in the armed forces and two brothers, Ben Koehler of Hawarden and R. J. Koehler of LeMars.
