Funeral services were held at the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden at 1:30 P. M., December 2 for Mrs. James Johnston, 80, of Hawarden, who died November 29 at a Hawarden nursing home. Services were conducted by the Rev. Douglas Oelke and burial was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.

The former Nettie Moline was born in Sioux County June 24, 1892. She was married December 24, 1908 to James Johnston in Sioux City. He died May 16, 1951, in Hawarden.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Charlotte) Knight of Rapid City, and Mrs. Paul (Lorene) Moser of Sioux City; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Olga) Anderson in Arizona and Mrs. Raymond Sanford of Hawarden.
