Sioux Center News June 28, 1932

Last week Thursday evening Anton Vander Bilt of Prinsburg, Minn., was the victim of an explosion which caused is death the following day. Anton was engaged in taking the cap off an empty gasoline tank which had been standing in the sun. He was smoking at the time. The vapors in the tank caused an explosion. In someway he was hit in the forehead. He walked into the house and was conscious until he had been taken to a doctor. At about 11 o'clock at night he was removed to a hospital in Wilmar where he soon fell into unconsciousness and there he died the next day.

Anton is well known in Hull attending Western Academy there for three years. He was a bright and well liked boy, being still in his seventeenth year. This year he was attending the high school at Raymond, Minn. The News Force in particular feels saddened by this accident for Anton was our cousin.
