Grace Topp, 87, of Rock Valley died Tuesday, January 29 in the Rock Valley hospital.

Services were at 10:30am Friday, January 31, at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. The Rev. Jerry Van Groningen officiated. Burial was at 1pm in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Visitation was from 7-8pm Thursday, Jan. 31.

Mrs. Topp, the former Grace Van Wittering, was born July 29, 1897, in Elburg, The Netherlands. She came to the United States in March 1907. She married Stephan Topp in March 1920, at Clear Lake, S.D. They farmed in the Hartley and Hull area until moving to Orange City in 1958. Mr. Topp died in 1962. She moved to Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley Aug. 3, 1982.

Survivors included two sons, Gerrit of Cerritos, Calif. and Leonard of Hamilton, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Lorraine) Vande Brake of Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Bernard (Alida Mae) De Bondt of Steen, Minn., one sister, Mrs. John (Gertrude) Kreykes of Sheldon; 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
