William W. Davis, who has been sick for so long a time, died last Thursday. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the M. E. Church with Dr. Thomas in the pulpit due to an accident Dr. Jackson could not preach the funeral sermon as expected. Mr. Davis was born 1852 and was sixty-four years old. He was married to Miss Ellen Nichols in 1874 and to the union were born nine children. Seven of the children survive and with one exception were all present at the funeral. They are Frank and Glenn Davis of LeMars, Mrs. Flora Putnam of Dickens, Iowa, Mrs. Laura Walters of Dickens, Mrs. Opal White of Craig, Mrs. Otie Garr of Craig and Mrs. Edith Lockard of Fairmount, Minnesota. He also leaves a widow.
