Nick Martin Succumbs

Nicholas Martin died - Monday. Nov. 16, after a long illness. Mr. Martin was born October 19, 1870
at Fredonia, Wisc. Jan. 11, 1899 he married Miss Susan Even. The wedding took place in St. Marys at Alton.

The couple lived in Granville for a number of years where Mr. Martin had a jewelry and watch repair shop. In 1915 Mr. and Mrs. Martin and son Loyal moved to their new home in Alton. Mr. Martin had a photograph studio adjoining his home.

Surviving are Mrs. Martin and one son Loyal A. Martin and two grandchildren, Claudia Sue and Mark Clark of Cherokee; three sisters, Mrs. Peter Willinganz of Keil, Wisc, Mrs. Herbert Brenner of Milwaukee and Mrs. Peter Kellen of Alton. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Mary's church.
