Cornie Van Den Hul, 82, of Sioux Center, died on Tuesday, February 16, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital and Health Center. A graveside service at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center on Saturday morning preceded the memorial service at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiating.

Van Den Hul was born to Herman & Tena (Van Velsen) Van Den Hul on March 4, 1916, in Ada, The Netherlands. He married Christina Hop in Rock Rapids, on February 12, 1943. They lived in Rock Rapids where Cornie hauled for creameries in Rock Rapids and Luverne, MN. The family then moved to Artesia, CA. He was a janitor at Cerritos College and had his own lawn care business. They moved to Sioux Center in 1989. In April 1996, he moved to Sioux Center Health Center. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and a men's Bible study group. He loved fishing, doing lawn care and visiting with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Jake & Phyllis Van Den Hul and Herm & Dawn Van Den Hul, all of Sioux Center three daughters and their husbands, Thelma & Jim Van Otterloo of Ripon, CA, Nettie & Tom Griffin of Shelby, North Carolina, Cheryl & Calvin Westra of Ontario, CA; a special niece and her husband, Toni & Harold Van Wyhe of Luverne, MN; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Max & Gerrit, and two sisters, Gert and Marie.

At the memorial service, congregational hymns were "All The Way My Savior Leads Me" and "Living for Jesus". Pam Brinks was organist and Gerb Doornink was soloist who sang "I Bowed On My Kneew and Cried Holy". Jennifer & Erika Van Den Hul were violinists and Dawn Van De Hul was pianist.

Casket bearers were Chad Klinkenborg, Chris Klinkenborg, Bruce Oosterkamp, Martin Dayton, Robert White, Troy Van Den Hul, Jim T. Van Otterloo, Matthew Klinkenborg, Jeremy Darnell and Tom Freese.
