Mrs. Emma Spain the lady that was sent from this township (Ireton) to the insane asylum, died there last Friday and was buried in the hospital cemetery. Mrs. Spain will have her taken up when the weather is colder, and placed by her mother, Mrs. D. Burket in the union Hill Cemetery south of town.)

(This was Emma Burket born 1859 died 5 Aug 1887 at 27 yrs 10 months and 5 days. She was married to Purl Spain 10 Dec 1883 at Orange City IA. She was the daughter of David Burket and Eliza Gulf. She had one son, William. Purl later married and had several other children and lived in Mahaska county IA. )
