Lizzie Vanden Brink, 88, of Sioux Center, died Sunday, July 27, in a hospital in Sioux Center after a brief illness.

Services were at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, July 30, in the Netherlands Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. John Vanden Hoed officiated. Burial was in Rock Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Vanden Brink, the former Lizzie Rus, was born November 19, 1897 in Pella. She lived her youth in South Dakota and Iowa and attended school in Armour, South Dakota. She married Marten Vanden Brink on January 21, 1926 at Carmel. The couple lived in South Dakota, California and Iowa. He died September 22, 1974.

Mrs. Vanden Brink was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation and the Dorcas Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Johanna Van Voorst of Sioux Center, and Cornelia Hoogendoorn of Rock Rapids; a son, John, of Montevideo, MN; four brothers, Jacob Sr., and John Sr., both of Corsica, South Dakota; Neal of Holland, Michigan, and Marinus of Sioux Center, 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
