Sioux County Capital, November 18, 1990

Bernard Te Paske died Sept. 20, 1990 at his home in Troy, Mich.

He was born January 16, 1910 in Orange City, Iowa, one of four children of Herman & Elizabeth Te Paske. He has one sister, Johanna, living in New York City, NY. His brother, Henry Te Paske, attorney in Orange City for many years and his sister, Agatha Bolluyt, preceded him in death.

Bernard Te Paske attended Orange City Public Schools, Northwestern College for two years, Morningside College and Iowa State College in Ames.

He married Dorthea Crisp of Orange City in 1935, they had two children, Bruce of Birmingham, Mich., and Linda. Linda preceded her father in death in 1983, leaving three children.

Bernard was a commander in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was in eight major operations in the South Pacific.

After the war he joined Ford Motor Co. International and traveled all over the Middle East. He took his family to live in Beiruit, Lebanon and Tehran where he dealt with many of the countries now in conflict.

Mr. Te Paske was also sales manager with the J. C. Case International, again traveling in the Middle East and Europe.

He and his family also lived in Wilmington, Delaware for 15 years and were members of the Westminister Presbyterian Church where he was an active member, choir director and Sunday School teacher.
