John Te Paske, 99, of Archer died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 1997 at the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 22, at Archer Reformed Church. The Rev. Mark Volkers officiated. Burial was at 10:15 a.m., Friday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Sanborn Funeral Home.

John was born Dec. 25, 1897 in Orange City, the son of Everett & Elizabth (Lammers) Te Paske. He was raised and educated in the Orange City area.

He married Lucy Russell on Sept. 16, 1922 in Marion, N.Y. The couple moved to Iowa and made their home in Archer in 1940. He was employed as a custodian at the Archer School for several years and was a farm laborer in the Archer area. He entered the Wide View Rest Home in August, 1988.

Mr. Te Paske was a member of Archer Reformed Church.

Survivors include a son, Russell of Cedar Falls; three daughters and their husbands, Aletha & Alfred Mouw of Sheldon; Sadie & Alvin Storm of Archer, and Lila & Ralph Fjeld of Primghar; 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant son, four sisters and two brothers.
