Born in Sioux Center, Iowa on Sep. 5, 1956

Departed on Jan. 24, 2008 and resided in Blaine, WA. Whatcom County resident, Timothy J. Vonk, age 51, died suddenly on Thursday, January 24, 2008 in Custer, WA. He was born September 5, 1956 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Gerrit and Jennie (Koedam) Vonk. In 1972, he moved with his family to Lynden where he was an outstanding Lynden High School football player; graduating in 1976. Tim was a long-haul truck driver for White Buffalo and other trucking companies. One of his greatest joys was spending time with family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Tim is survived by his sisters, Patricia (Neil) De Groot, Janet (Steve) Martin, Ruth (Arthur) den Hoed, Mari (Archie) den Hoed, Sonja (Ken) Weidenaar, Leah (Eric) Spady, Beth (Lee) Haak and Amy (Michael) Smith; special friend, Alice Townsend and numerous nieces and nephews.
