Sioux County Capital, April 14, 1983

Boyden-Funeral services for Greta Vander Hoeven, 76, were held Tuesday, April 12, at the First Reformed Church, Boyden. The Rev. Sylvester Moths officiated and burial was in the Boyden Cemetery. She passed away Saturday, April 9, at the Sheldon Community Memorial Hospital. Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Sheldon, were in charge of the arrangements.

The daughter of Dirk & Jacoba (De Bruyn) Vanden Berg, she was born Dec. 9, 1906, at Hospers. She married Leonard Vander Hoeven in December of 1930.

Mrs. Vander Hoeven is survived by two sons, Leonard, Woodbury, MN; and Kenneth, Brae, CA; one daughter, Joan Vander Hoeven, Hull; two brothers, Cornelius Vanden Berg, Hospers; and Jack Vanden Berg, Sioux Center; two sisters, Magdalene Vanden Burg, and Mrs. Nellie De Haas, both of Hospers; and four grandchildren.
