Freeman Faber.

Freeman Faber, age 64, of Sioux Center, Iowa passed away Friday, April 10, 1998 at a Sioux City hospital. Services were held Monday, April 13, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Burial was at West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City, lowa.Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Freeman was born September 28, 1933, in Orange City, the son of Peter F. and Lydia (Huizenga) Faber. He graduated from Northwestern Academy and attended Northwestern College for one year. He married Marjorie Ekdom on June 8,1954, in Ireton, Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1956. He was employed as a manager of the Farmers Co-op Society in Ireton and later as assistant manager in Sioux Center, retiring in April 1997. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, where he was an elder, and the American Legion. He served on the Christian School board, and as deacon and elder at the Ireton Christian Reformed Church. He volunteered at Trinity Corrections in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Renee and Mike Noteboom of Orange City and Barb and Kent Kelderman of Des Moines; a son and his wife, Doug and Cindy of Ireton; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Elise Noteboom, Ross, Abby and Kate Kelderman, Kayla, Eric and Keaven Faber; two sisters and their husbands, Emilene and Edwin Kleinwolterink of Sibley, Iowa and Karen and Delmar Bergsma of Orange City; a sister-in-law, Judy Faber of Orange City; a stepmother, Lucy Faber of Orange City; a stepsister, Elizabeth Bruxvoort of Jenison, MO; and three stepbrothers, Peter Dean, Rod and Gary Jeltema, all of Orange City. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Otto and Harlan in infancy.
