John G. Fedders.

Mr. John Fedders, age 82, of Orange City, died Friday, Oct. 18, 1991 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

John Gerrit was born June 25,1909 at Orange City, the son of Gerrit and Nellie (Hofland) Fedders. He was raised at Orange City. On Feb. 17, 1933, he married Edna Julia Pennings at Orange City. They farmed in the Orange City area until June of 1976 when they retired into town. Mrs. Fedders died Aug. 19, 1987, at Orange City. In May of 1989, Mr. Fedders became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. He was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include his five children, Gladys and her husband Leo Eason of Orange City, Hertilda and her husband Hank Vermilyea of Bloomington, Minn., Ernest and his wife Jo Ann of Orange City, Joyce and her husband Ronald Bradley of Kansas City, Mo., and Larry andhis wifeEileen of Sheldon, 11 grandchildren, Deborah Vander Plas, Lyle Eason, Jeff Fedders, Brenda Arnett, Bruce Vermilyea, Kevin Bradley, Brent Fedders, Lori Bradley, Kristi Fedders, Darla Fedders, and Lisa Fedders; nine great-grandchildren, Alecia Vander Plas, Stacia Vander Plas, Joshua Fedders, Ryan Vander Plas, Amy Fedders, Kimberly Eason, Michelle Eason, Brianna Arnett and Danile Eason; brother, Marinus of Orange City; and sister, Grace Dykhuizen of Orange City.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Gerrit and Herman; sister, Kate Jasper; and a brother and sister in infancy.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 21 at ihe First Reformed Church of Orange City, with the Revs. Steven Vander Molen and Henry Poppen officiating. Interment followed al West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.
