Well Known Druggist Dies Suddenly.

Henry Lubbers, who was an Orange City druggist for almost 46 years, died suddenly at Grossmann hospital last Thursday, November 3, at 12:25 a. m. of a lung hemorrhage. He took sick the night before and was removed to the hospital Thursday morning at about 10 o'clock. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1 p. m. in the home and at 1:30 in the American Reformed church with Rev. J. A. Veldman officiating. Burial was in the Orange City Cemetery with Van Etten Funeral Service in charge of arrange-ments.

Mr. Lubbers was born in Zeeland, Mich, on May 31, 1875, the son of Roelof Lubbers and Jane Heemstra Lubbers. The family came to Sioux County February 18, 1884 and settled on the farm south of town where Ed Lubbers is living now. Henry attended country school and then the Northwestern Classical Academy from which he was graduated. After two years of country school teaching he entered Purdue Univ. and graduated with a degree in pharmacy in 1903. He started in business here almost immediately, buying out the interest of W. W. Schultz in the partnership of De Kruif and Schultz. He continued in business with P. J. De Kruif until the latter sold out to him 30 years ago and moved to Calif. Six years ago, Mr. Lubbers sold his drug business to Fred Van Sickle. Occasionally, he still helped in the prescription department.

On June 25, 1908, he was married to Miss Jennie Masselink in Vriesland, Mich. They became parents of a son, Howard who is now a practicing attorney in Detroit, Mich. Besides the widow and son,

Mr. Lubbers is survived by two grandchildren, two brothers John and Bert, both of Orange City and one sister, Mrs. B. Vander Aarde, also of Orange City. Preceding him in death were a brother, Fred and a sister, Sarah, Mrs. Otto Mouw. Mr. Lubbers was a member or the American Reformed church for 40 years. He was a charter member of the Sioux Valley Golf and Country club here and also secretary of the Lions Club.
