Arie Jasper, 77, of Orange City died Sunday at his home. Services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. Rev. Ralph Pontier officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery, Alton, under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home, Orange City.

Mr. Jasper was born Nov. 13, 1908, the son of Jacobus and Gertrude (Slickers) Jasper at Orange City. He married Bernice Scholten Feb. 16, 1939, at Alton. Arie, a lifelong resident of Orange City, was in the feed business and later operated the U.S. Postal Star Route and then worked at Vogel Paint Co., until his retirement 13 years ago. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and was an active supporter of the Unity Christian High School in Orange City.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Nelva) Vander Plaats of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Nobling of Pulaski, Tenn., Mrs. Gerald (Eunice) Haupert of Sergeant Bluff and Mrs. Randy (Mona) Van Voorst of Sioux Center; two sons, Arden of Sioux City and Duane of Anaheim, Calif.; seven sisters, Mrs. Tony (Rena) Huizenga of Orange City, Mrs. Clarence (Alice) Haarsma of Maurice, Mrs. Ray (Hermina) Terpstra of Zeeland, Mich., Mrs. Henry (Harriet) Sprik of Plane, S.D., Mrs. Henry W. (Viola) Huitink of Hospers, Mrs. Albert (Elsie) Meendering of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Al (Gertrude) Tucker of Mexico; four brothers, Marion and Clarence, both of Orange City and George and Vernon, both of Artesia, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, John and Ray; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Jeltema and Mrs. Vera Huitink; and a granddaughter, Rachel Vander Plaats.
